When I turn my lcd monitor off for a while

When I hit the power button, the screen lights up briefly, I get a glimpse of the windows desktop, then the screen darkens, turns to black. The little light is on, indicating an appropriate video signal is available, but there is no picture. What could the problem be?

What lcd is it? Sounds like a power problem.

Dunno what it could be for sure, but I had a customer with the exact same prob on this "all in one" desktop with a 17 lcd. Turned out the cold cathode leads coming off the power inverter went dry solder and it had a bad connection. Soldered it back together better and it stayed on.
On another customers computer, he had a similar problem, and it tunred out he was using the wrong power supply for the LCD. After I figured out he had accidently swapped 12v walwarts with another computer gadget during a move, all was well again. Of course it could be the power inverter is simply crapping out....
