So none of you have ever had a problem with an rma or defective card or something and called different places and have them give you the run around? All your problems are always taken care of immediately with no hassles? Must be nice.

you know those shirts/sayings "Its a hardware problem" "its a software problem" kinda like a reseller saying "its the manufacturers responsibility" and the manufacturer saying "its the reseller's responsibility"

Just one more law we DON'T need

This is not a hot deal at all - legislating computer support will raise prices and incur additional taxes (to pay for the apparatus to enforce them). I'd rather have the market take care of it.

For starters buy decent products from companies with good reseller ratings and you are protected. Report bad experiences to reseller ratings and at other places so that poor business conduct will not sprout.

this doesn't just apply to a retailer/customer situation.
what about a software company that doesn't care to patch their broken software because they have your money already and dont care? or even worse patch it but brand it as a "new version" and force you to buy it for more.
the description is abit vague as to what exactly he wants to do or regulate as it seems it encompasses everything and everybody concerned with hardware and software from the manufacturer down to the consumer.

This is hot because of the rebate factor. How can businesses justify the current rebate submission procedures? They're bulls**t. Plain & simple....
...and, yes. I got screwed out of $100 on my laptop, $18 due to returning memory & my receipt getting marked so they wouldn't honor it, $150 cel phone rebate sent certified mail & the rebate center saying they never received it so I have to dig everything back up & re-send -----waiting another 2 months for a response.
It's f**king bull & something needs to be done about it.

.......or more than likely (since since he is a Democrat after all) he is very efficient at what he does do, and has some extra time! Nah.
