When GTA4 is released, which system will you be playing it on?

I would play on 360 if it didn't freeze on every game so often. For multiplatform games Im going w/PS3 from now on.

360... mostly because, AFAIK, the episodes that are going to be released in the form DLC are exclusive to the 360. That's why MS paid then all that money up front, right?

I believe there will be some content that will be exclusive to the PS3 as well, but who knows what or how much. The episodic content is exclusive to 360, and that's why MS paid them a huge advance ($50 million?). It's supposed to be ~10 hours per episode, and based on how much MS paid I'm sure it'll be 800 points per episode at least.

I just paid $5 for a 90 minute episode of Mass Effect. It would be amazing if GTA IV episodes were indeed 10 hours and $10.

360 😛.

I pity the foo's that have it on the 360 and can't play it because of the redness.

PS3 for me, even though I have both. On my 3rd 360, my 1st PS3.

Supposedly the DLC consists of an entire burrough so definately 360.

Hrmmm... where'd you hear that? Sounds like speculation based on the fact that Staten Island isn't in the game.

Easily the PS3. I'll have a 360 by then, but that won't matter. I like the PS3 controller way more.

360, mainly because I don't own a PS3 but if I did the extra content would probably sway me towards the 360 anyway.

Well actually, I should say that I won't be playing it because I never play my games . I think of it as a good conversation piece....

"Jesus christ, Will, how many video games do you have?"
"I don't know..."
"Better yet, how many have you played?"
"Just about none"

360 and hopefully on the PC next year. 🙂

Any news on this? I'd definately buy it for the PC.

It usually comes out 6 months later.

I haven't found any information about a PC version in the works. Is it normally something they announce later?

Yea, the release dates for reference:
GTA3 PS2: October 22, 2001
GTA3 PC: May 21, 2002

Vice City PS2: October 27, 2002
Vice City PC: May 12, 2003
Vice City Xbox: October 31, 2003

San Andreas PS2: October 26, 2004
San Andreas PC/Xbox: June 7, 2005

So nothing has been announced, but you can see why people assume a PC version is coming.

PS3. Selling my 360 and the extra content wouldnt matter, as I'm sure the normal game will take forever to finish.

Yeah, I wish there was a way to see how many people play GTA games and how many actually put in the time to beat them. for me, after a few hours, I get tired of the missions and then just start doing the sandbox thing, sneaking into military bases to steal tanks, standing on top of buildings and sniping fools, try to create giant traffic jams by just standing in the intersection, then plugging the guy in the first car, and watching the rest of them go nuts.

I can't imagine I would ever manage to get to a point where I'd need any DLC that they might offer.

Yeah that is the one. It might have been speculation. I don't remember, I just heard them talking about it on a podcast.

PS3 because I don't have the latter. And DLC doesn't matter to me because I know I will tire of this GTA just like I did the other GTA's after the novelty wears off.

I like the missions.. What happened for me was I became bored of the game itself and became so addicted to the cut scenes and to finding out what happens next that I would rush through missions just so I could get to the next cut scene.. I wouldn't enjoy the game at all and was that addicted to the videos..

So I did play through the missions. I am not one of those people who plays it just for the sandbox stuff and doesn't get through the missions -- people who do that have no clue what they are missing.

PS3 - I don't care to pay extra for content that is probably going to be kind of shitty anyway (the only DLC I could see buying would be additional songs in GH3 or Rock Band, that makes sense, but DLC that you have to purchase for other games just seems like a big waste). I hate the 360 controller.

The missions/storyline are all I care about. The missions are usually fairly kickass, I have a lot more fun working through the story than playing in the sandbox.

I own a 360 and do not own a PS3. If I owned both I would still buy it for the 360. The exclusive content releases alone are more than enough reason to choose the 360 version unless you happen to despise the 360 controller interface for a game like this one, but I doubt that many people will feel that is a strong enough point to give up extra content.

For those who never played a GTA game I recommend Vice city, Sanandreas. Then you are all set for GTA4. So far San Andreas is my fav followed by Vice city. I own SA for the PS2, PC and 360 (Xbox ver). This way I can always play on any platform and bring whatever ver when I go to a friends house. 🙂

I have beaten the main story line and gotten as close to 100% as I could on the previous three games.

Sometimes I just pop it in to unwind after work by just playing around in the world. Really, where else can you strafe the "Vegas" strip with an attack chopper or jumpjet, then parachute out sending it crashing down to the street below causing chaos and destruction. The more populated, life-like world in IV will make that even more fun.
