When exactly is Petraeus's report on television?

I've been looking forward to this and don't have a lot of time to watch CNN and find out.

Will this be only on C-SPAN? Will it be on CNN? What time? I'm in the central time zone, I don't want to miss this.

Good question and I don't know if there is an answer yet.
Not sure they have scheduled the hearing or at least I haven't seen the news media talking about.

I am sure there will be a ton of coverage right before it happens.

I thought it was like on monday or tuesday... but Im not sure... I hope I'm not in college during that time.

So, doesn't anyone know?

C-Span says:

Mon., 12:30pm: Joint Hearing
Tues., 9:30am: Senate For. Rel.
Tues., 2pm: Senate Armed Serv.

But... which is the "Main event", I'm in school during some of those times.. 🙁

Would you hire a Musician to fix the noisy rod knocking noise your car engine makes because Musicians are experts on making pleasant noises?

Why should we expect Gen Patraeus as a military man to come up with a political solution that is the job of politicians?

Just like Colin Powell, I think General Patraeus will discover anyone whose integrity is used by GWB&co, can't help but emerge used and abused.

The Patraeus report will just be the process of putting lip stick on a pig and for that we need to hire Ossama's hairdresser.

And six months later we will likely look back and say how could we have gotten it so wrong? Just like every other report we have gotten for the last four years, dramatic improvements will be promised if we just stay the course for six more months. The only thing new with this report will be the new improved phony stats and if someone is shot in the front of the head, its not sectarian violence.

From what I've heard, the report is going to be a 15 minute oral presentation by Petraeus.

I guess that's 14min and 55sec longer than it takes to say "We're kicking ass!"

In the background, you will see Bush, like we're used to, with that smirk on his face in his "tough guy suit" prancing around with his shirt sleeves rolled up with his arms held away from his body, like one of those gunslingers in spaghetti westerns, shouting "we are winning!".

"A senior military officer said there will be no written presentation to the president on security and stability in Iraq," the Washington Times reports.

The necessary implication: If the president isn't getting a written report from Petraeus, neither is Congress and neither are the rest of us.

He's giving his report tomorrow morning - Monday. But like Balt said - Fox News snagged an exclusive interview with him for tomorrow night which will be easier for most people to watch. I'm sure Fox will have highlights from earlier - plus they have Brit Hume doing the interview I think at 9:00. Nice catch for Fox - it'll def be worth watching.

The Fox News thing is going to cause a bunch of lefties to freak out. Maybe that is why they are calling him a traitor over on Moveon.org. I believe just appearing on Fox is considered a treason to them.

Moveon.org just set the anti-war movement way back. The GOP is absolutely hammering on them right now on C-SPAN and after the job Petraeus did today I can imagine the rest of the anti-war crowd's evening will be spent spouting 4 nasty letter words (one of them not being liar).

What an idiotic attempt by Moveon. They better hope for some sort of actual total disaster to befall Iraq immediately or they can pack their bags because their faux pas is going to have a big effect on public opinion, and not the effect they were hoping for.

What are you even talking about? I really doubt the average American cares what Moveon.org said about the General. What the people want is immediate improvement in Iraq or withdrawal.

Think not? Just watch and see the fallout from this.

The only people who will care about Moveon.org will be the pundits at Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. I doubt their demographic had a high opinion of Moveon.org to begin with.

In other words, any 'fallout' that takes place will only be in the minds of people who already hated it.

Seeing as Moveon.org took out a full page ad today in the NY Times spouting their "Betray US" idiocy, I find it unlikely that only Limbaugh and Fox News fans are going to be aware of their stupidity.

Not only that but you can be sure it will be the talk around various corporate water fountains tomorrow moring so if you think this is going to pass without notice you are only fooling yourself. That's not to mention the Code Pink lunatics having a conniption fit at Petraeus's testimony, which is already getting play on numerous news channels.

Good job Moveon. You've done more to gain support for the war than anything the GOP dolts could muster.

I wasn't aware of the full-page ad. I still say it's mostly irrelevant to the average joe. The far left and the far right care about organizations like Moveon. I doubt anyone else takes notice. Besides, according to the Republican posters in P&N, only people on the ultra-left would ever read the NY Times anyway, right?
