Why do you keep posting this everywhere?

I state facts in my posts. I use the phrase "Everyone knows this" to drive home the point that what was said should be known by everyone, and that those who do not know, are fools.

"What was said should be known by everyone" is an opinion, not a fact. My opinion, then, is that you are an idiot.

You are the idiot here, my friend. Go back and read my post. The usage of "Everyone knows this" is stated clearly there. You may have to read it more than once to understand it, as you clearly have a hard time with these things.

I didn't know that. I seldom use drive thrus as they waste time and gas, as well as being a PITA when your order inevitably gets screwed up....

It being stated does not make it any more or less true.

I used to work on NCR ATM's writing device drivers and interface software. It was Windows 2000 at the time (stripped down of course) and was moving towards XP, however it's pretty much common knowlegde. I've also seen a linux distro rebooting several times during a flight when the video on demand/gps display got major fubared.

Truth. From a time standpoint, the lines move faster inside because inevitably someone in the drive through line has a large order. If they were inside, they'd have the person step aside and fill other orders in the process, but in a drive through line you can't easily do this... unless you are one of those restaurants with horrible customer service that makes you pull up and wait. Not to mention that inside, there are usually multiple registers in use.

Heh - my wife's display did that on a flight back from P.R. a couple of weeks ago. She was like WTF, then even more so as I watched it intently.

It's easier/cheaper to use windows that it is to write a custom OS for something that basic.

Other things I have seen windows on:

Screens at airports
Self checkouts
Coinstar machines
