When does portal 2 get challenging?

pontifex

Lifer
I'm in chapter 4 now and I've only had to think about how to complete 2 levels so far. I remember playing portal 1 and had fun trying to figure out how to complete the level. so far this is just too easy.

There's only really a decent amount of challenge at the end of the game. Even then, it's not really hard.

Half of the middle of the game is figuring out where the one spot you can put a portal is and then doing it.

None if it is really hard, but it's still a cool game. I was pleasantly surprised at how unique they were able to make it from the first game. I was really expecting more of the exact same.

Story I heard was they dumbed down the gameplay to make it more accessible to the average console gamer (thus boosting sales).

It doesn't for it was released on consoles.

i had thought portal1 would be nearly impossible with thumbsticks, but i know some people who say they managed just fine. i've got no problem precision flicking a mouse, but i know i couldn't ever beat that game on console without smashing some stuff in anger.

seems like they would remove things like quick 180's or other moves difficult on a console, but i don't see any reason for the them to pretty much remove the core aspect (puzzle) of the game.

Portal 2 never really had any super tough levels. A couple of them are quite clever, and the game was fun throughout, but for instance none of them were "oh crap I have to lookup the solution online" worthy.

Portal 1 never had any super tough levels either that were part of the main story. The only really tough levels were the 6 or 8 extra ones i cant remember what they were called but they were fkin difficult

For me, Portal 2 got boring. After maybe 6 or 8 hours I finally stopped playing.

Unlike the original, I have no interest in finishing portal 2.

I dont know what it is, but the game just got boring.

I had fun, I also like the alternate story going on behind the scene, Theres the old-school Black Masa from like back in the 50's, The puters arguing and nagging.
Portal 3 onward shouldnt be hard as the end hinted the almost unlimited potental of clones, Not to mention there are two portal guns on the surface now.

I only looked up on map because though I was doing it right it just was not working and once confirmed I just kept doing it till I passed.

If you got 6-8 hours out of the game, then you might as well have beat it. That's about how long it takes (closer to 8-10).

The co-op definitely offers more opportunity for nonsensical fun, too.

But if you never got to meet the Space core... then hell, you missed out.

SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!

Portal is the WORST game Valve ever put out - which explains why Portal 1 was given away for free. It the gaming equivalent of Pink Floyd music. Portal is stoner media for the "oh wow man! " crowd. All sizzle and no steak.
