It's all hilarious.. but it's not 'ha ha' funny if that makes sense. You won't get the stupid gags that seinfeld had, it is much more subjective.

i wondered that too. my friend loves that show and thinks its hilarious. he had me watch a few episodes of it and i'm just like, eh...

the acting sucks, they try too hard to be funny and too much like Seinfeld. maybe it would be funny if they could actually act.

It isn't really acting.. that's the point. Larry gives them a basic prompt and it's all ad-libbed based on the story idea. There is no script, no specific statements, etc. It's all done on the fly.

It's only like Sienfeld because George's character is based on Larry David himself. Other than that it's nothing like the sitcom. Basically a camera follows Larry around and the situations in his life basically build up throughout the episode to really f' Larry over in the end.

And they "can't act" because the majority of the show is improvised. Tha'ts the beauty of it. If you can't appreciate the shows humor, then sucks to be you, watch some more toilet humor.

My parents-in-law love the show; I've only seen one episode, but didn't quite 'get' it. Maybe I'll try another couple out and see if it grows on me.

I did the same thing and downloaded the first 3 seasons, I can tell you it does get funnier as time goes on and seasons 3-4 were HILARIOUS to me, but the first two have their momments. I do agree that its type of comedy is an acquired 'Seinfeld' like taste as well, so you'll either love it or hate it. I say stick through it for the first season then determine if it's your cup of tea.

It's a different kind of humor. Some people (like myself) love it. Some just don't find any comedy in it.
