When do you think Germany and Japan will attempt to get revenge?

Both countries seem to have done extremely well, all things considered. The best cars in the world are either German or Japanese depending on who you ask. Japan is leading in many areas of electronics, while Germany seems to be the biggest part of the growing EU.

How much longer do you think it'll be before they decide it's time to finish what they started back in 1939?

Personally I think they are just waiting for a weak anti-war democrat president. I hate Bush as much as anyone, but you have to admit a foreign country would have to be brain damaged to start anything while he is leading the country. On the other hand I could see Hilary or Obama looking the other way while German quietly invades Poland for the second time, and we could be kept out of the conflict until it's too late.

What do you think?

Very old thread revived for no apparent reason.

Lol. If Germany could, I'm sure they would have WWII wiped from the history books and everybody's mind. It's not exactly a high point in their history...

it's been 60 years, and the people on mainland Asia have much more of a reason to hold a grudge and want revenge than Japan.

China or NK attacking Japan is a much more likely scenario than the reverse.

What do they need revenge for again? I realize it truly sucks that the US removed two useless governments from nations that needed a cleansing and then rebuilt both countries using US taxpayer money giving both state of the art manufacturing and infrastructure. Damn, no wonder they hate us.

Alright. Based on your assessment, the end result of losing the war was a huge improvement for both companies. Given that, it seems like a a 3rd world war would make sense on every possible level: if they win, great, if they lose, they get another huge economic boost. It can't fail!

Why don't you go outside and rub your two IQ points together until you figure out the difference between Off Topic and Politics & News?

Both countries regret WWII. Why would they try that whole thing again?

I bet they wouldn't regret it if they won.

A new war would give them a chance to do it all over again without making the same mistakes, and easily win.

You don't even think the idea crossed their minds? Why is Japan trying so hard to get working humanoid robots? I bet they plan to build a massive robot army!

As far as Germany, I'm sure BMW has some super secret military technology that is just waiting for a good reason to be released. All-terrain version of the M3 invisible from radar due to stealth paint with anti-tank rockets.

maybe if this was 1949.

it's been 60 years... how much anti-german/jap sentiment still exists in the US? that's about how it is over there too, it's not like they have mad power hungry vets in office who want to relive their days pillaging and raping China.

They started WWII and lost. Granted if the Germans would have had any leader other than Hitler everywhere outside the western Hemisphere would be speaking German today. The Japanese never stood a chance. They both lost. Today it would be much more grim for them. In a real war the US could dispatch both countries like Germany took care of Poland in 1939.
