like if you buy stuff today

do u pay it off right the day before or a few days before the the billing cycle ? or anytime soon after you buy it?

i am not talking about carrying balance over , i pay off the entire balance at once

Eh, whenever I remember it. But always before it's due I should add. I used to pay right after I'd make a purchase (debit from savings) but I've stopped doing that. No point in doing so as long as you remember you've got a payment due.

I think I'm carrying a balance to my death bed. 🙁

Usually I schedule my payments on the first day of the new billing cycle unless I make some sort of huge purchase that I budgeted. Then I'll go ahead and schedule another payment to pay for the item.

Lol, tell me about it. I maxed out two 5k limit cards in a few months. Once I got them paid off finally I found things much easier to control 😉 Fvck doing that again.

Yeah, it's a learning experience. I used to spend like crazy, but now I'm trying super hard to get my credit cards paid off. It's hard when you're in school and have to pay for all the other stuff at the same time. 🙂

How would this be an advantage over just using a Debit Card?

3-5 years later 🙁

but we are down to just a couple, we paid off one with $3200 balance a month or so ago and my credit score already bounced up a good bit

My billing cycles through the 20th of every month. I usually get the bill in the mail about the 27th. I get paid once a month on the last day of every month. I pay my bill then (although it's not due until the 20th). I haven't carried a balance in more than 2 years.

pay the bill on the date it is expected

lol, yeah, I don't need to check what's in my chequing account 'cause I know it'll always be zero or near zero. I put back a lot of play money each pay period into paying down cc debt. Must say, it's definitely a nice feeling seeing it go from $6k down to $2.5k in half a year 🙂 Can't wait to get my statement when I see zero balance 🙂

God help me should I ever max out both CCs, credit line, and don't qualify for any other credits. Some people don't even qualify for overdraft or a classic visa. That's sad. Credit is a privilege, not a right.
