i am a bit too old for that but my grandfather (WW2) and father (Vietnam) have served their time.

Tell them that I thank them.

they are honored to have served although they both are against this possible war with iraq.

"Evil Doers" are suck. By the way, for the first week or so, the only thing that will be flying is aircraft and cruise missles - and lot's of them.

The President is meeting with Colin Powel on Feb 4 I think, and they will disclose the information about what Saddam really is up to. We will basically go in, I'm guessing, like the first time. Send bombing runs on places that might have the weapons of mass destruction. I just hope I'm not there... my unit might be getting activated.

Mid-March or later is the current estimate.

Thats a bit late, I'd say the bombs start dropping st the end of February and the ground invasion follows within a week or two. So the ground part would be early to mid march. Unless we're planning on deploying even more troops than are already on their way...

Then they are obviously anti-american and Hussein supporters... according to people here that is what you are if you don't support this war...

okay, they fought for their country. just because they oppose a war doesn't mean they are unpatriotic.

The current estimates (IIRC from the briefing from the Pentagon last night) are mid-March or later; just logistical difficulties in getting the entire force over there.

Up to 800 the first two days. Aren't these things a million dollars each?

We should listen to them. They know better than most of us about the horrors of warfare, and would have a better perspective on what justifies it. I have all the respect in the world for them, and I would be willing to serve beside like people to defend my country, but not to defend someone else's political agenda. 🙁

If you are referring to Tomahawk missile, Navy's version costs approx one million each, and AF's version costs approx 1.4 million each.
