I saw IBM released earnings early yesterday. When do the rest of the companies report?
It's possible that many companies earnings were not yet affected by the economic crisis and good reports will help stem the tide.
On the other hand, it's possible companies might want to bury any losses in this quarter in the belief that other companies will report poor earnings, and theirs will go un-noticed.

No, it depends on the company. They have a schedule so you don't have all the companies reporting on the same day.

Some report before the market opens, others after.

If you are interested in a particular company, look on their website, or yahoo finance, google finance, etc.

I was wondering in general, as to how the timing will affect the market.

SEC requirement is 45 days after the last day of the quarter.

They can release them any time before that voluntarily.
