how long after the cut prices/upgrade their chips do you see it at the stores. i see no effect of the latest price cuts yet. if anything it seems like prices at places like frys have gone up or that at least frys has gotten a lot stingier with their deals

Prices were recently cut. The Q9650 was cut rather dramatically.

On the dual-core side, expect to see the Wolfies slide down a notch on the Intel price brackets, with the release of the E8700.

If you already have an AMD board, then PHII is the way to go.

E5200 around $70. Good chance of getting 3.6GHz and higher

I think most people around here though would want one with more cache. E7400 at Microcenter for $100. They also sell the Q9400 for $180

Just got one - running it at 3.66ghz (11x333) @ 1.325v, 4x1gb DDR2-800 @ 667 2.1v 3-4-4-10 on a ep45-ud3p. A little warm at this speed, 51c max at load (~47 average), but even without the cache this is a fast little chip for the price.

Was able to load Vista and run CPU-Z at 4.16ghz but it took 1.425v and couldn't get it prime stable.

Check ewiz.com - they're floating between $60-65 for OEM and a current special $65 for retail with free ship. Don't forget 7% live.com cashback.
