I started work when I was 14... which was illegal in my state, actually....
You get extra grasshoppeer points if you have at least 1000 in earnings ever since you started.
I've never taken a vacation, been out of the country, or not worked for any reason for longer than 3 months, since I was 14... I'm thirty now... I swear to god I'm taking a year off when my wife gets her masters... and a job of course :)

that's not a fair ansewer unless it's your current profession. I did my fair share of farm chores before I got a paying job... which is what we're talking about here.

~~edit

my typing could use some work tonight... see sig....

Had a tax paying job since I was 18. Had little jobs since 12 (paper boy, umpiring softball, etc.)

18 - Got a job with a law firm as a summer intern. Basically, do whatever they tell me. It was great fun!

16. summer before my senior year of high school.

I worked from May - August, and used the money I made to pay for prom, my senior ring, and half a trip to Europe after graduation with my friends (my parents paid the other half)

Alright, who's the jerk whose mommy and daddy wanted him to 'do well in school' so he didn't have to do a damn thing but get good grades?

Let's all beat the piss out of him.

You get bonus points if you've earned over $1000 in your life? Are your standards a bit on the low side?

You're confusing me, which is not really fair, because I'm pretty drunk.

What you said, isn't what I said.

But yes, I do have low standards... don't say that to my wife....

~~edit..
oh wait, I see what you mean... no over 1000 yearly... so no taking a break and only working weekends for a year at the movie theater.... should probably bump that nuber though... say 4 grand yearly?

heh. my parents never forced me to get a job while I was in school.

I just came to the realization if I started making my own money, my parents couldn't tell me what to do with it.

financial independance: priceless
