When did turn signals become optional?

Is it me, or do only about 2/10 cars use their turn signal nowadays....

Is it really that hard people? There are only three instances when needed
1) when switching lanes; or 2) when making a turn; or 3) when parking

Thats it... Only 3 fricken times......

Are people just stupid? Are they lazy? Or is it (as i suspect) a combo of both?

(And to all you people reading this that neglect to signal, kiss my hairy white ass)

Since illegal immigrants got their license. You should tail gate and high beam them next time. I hate them too, but what can you do, they're stupid and lazy.

We don't get much of that here in FL, but you sir are correct. Added to the OP.

LOL, I love parallel parking during rush hour on busy streets. I'd be driving and spots a slot, I jam on the break, does the signal and pisses everybody behind me off.

And number three are people think the far left lane is the fast lane.

And I hate when people do not use their signals, it's so dangerous.

I do it 90% of the time. When I'm preoccupied with a more-complex-than-usual manuever, like downshifting through the turn, I might not. In right turn only or left turn only lanes, I signal if nobody else in the row is, but ferchrissake it should be fvcking obvious where I'm going. There are other obscure location-specific "rules" that I use, but those are all local oddities which apply nowhere else on earth.

I use my turn signal all the time, just habit. Even when its 3am and I'm pulling into my driveway with no other cars in sight. I really dislike it when people squeeze between me and another car on the interstate by a couple of feet going 65+ mph. No blinker. What the fvck are they thinking?

Signalling for a lane change invites people to speed up and cut you off. People around where I live are @ssholes. On the interstate I signal properly.

I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE IN A TURN LANE. TAKE THE 0.000007 SECOND OUT OF YOUR DAY AND TURN ON THE SIGNAL

Using a turn signal in a parking lot is not necessary, its kind of obvious, if the person slows down, that they found a spot and are trying to pull into it.

Sorry but I don't feel the need to signal when the closest car to me is 200 yards behind me. That said, I make an effort to signal everytime when there are cars around me, as I hate fvckers that cut in without signals on.

As I said, I usually do. It's not a big deal to do it, just stick out the damn pinky and flick the stick. I just don't see that much point to it (though now that I actually think about it, as cross traffic it could be useful)

I'm shocked at the number of people in this thread that think about whether or not to use their turn signal. It should be second nature and require no thinking.
