When did the forums become such a HOLE!

Its sad, the forums where a please where people would trade ideas, and help each other, there was some good fun ribbing of each other, but now I just see lots of people being flat out rude.

All you see is people slamming celebrities, or if someone posts a pic of a hot chick people slam her and say she is a slut and such. It seems to not mater what the post is you will find someone slamming it with in the first few replies.

I miss the old days!

Exactly, I haven't noticed any real change since I've been here.

As for the OP's problem with getting useless posts in his thread which belonged in software, I find that threads actually placed in the correct forum get typically helpful and/or informative replies. Those that get mistakenly put into OT get what they deserve.

It also seems the mods have become quite childish and they sometimes show blatant bias. Maybe it's time to get rid of ATOT?

This happened some time ago with a certain group of posters who would basically get into fake arguements just to be able to have quotefests with each other. You know, my girlfriend is so great, make a misleading statement, then hop on our white horse with a paradigm shift and call other people idiots.

Anyway, I miss some of the neat, off the wall, stuff, like the "What the heck is eating my chili peppers" thread running right now. Stuff like that happens less and less.

Also, AT itself has changed. I tried to find something about the video cache remote access stuff, which would have been front page AT (remember the Pentium floating point error?) with frequent updates just five or six years ago. Can`t find a thing now. Maybe my search-fu is weak?

I knew it had really gone to crap when so many people here said .999...=1
