If you could find out the actual age of the posters, you'd have your reason.

It also seems the mods have become quite childish and they sometimes show blatant bias. Maybe it's time to get rid of ATOT?

I would be okay with having to pay a small annual fee to use OT. That would weed out the little kiddies.

That would never happen, though.

I have seen a huge increase in what seems like young kids when the complain about their 10th grade algebra hw.....or the "stupid" book they dont want to read.

Funny you should mention this. I'm reading a book about "modern liberalism and American decline" that says a lot of things along this line. Slouching Towards Gomorrah by Robert H. Bork. It's conservative and somewhat pointed, but so far it seems to be pretty rational. I've got no problem listening to almost any kind of ideas if they're carefully considered and respectfully presented.

I'm all for people caring about themselves, but not to the exclusion of others. Besides which, the people who love themselves more than others are much less lovable anyway.

If you get rid of ATOT, the nonsense will spill into the hardware/software forums. Better it be contained mostly here.

I've seen these boards grow and evolve over the last 7 or so years - the main noticeable difference to me is that there are just a sh!tload more member now than ever before. I like that idea about charging a little $$ to post, etc. - so as to weed out some trolls, kiddies, etc. - ofcourse only if all the members pre-2000 were grandfathered in ;)

Ah, so it's the liberals' fault!

I've read the Bork book, it's very conservative and slanted, basically ONE MAN'S view on all he disagrees with. IMHO.
