<< Y'all are cheap ass bastards, y'know that? I worked as a waiter, and what people say is true - on my paycheck, I used to make an average of about ~ $2.15 an hour - we make most of our money on the tip, and we always try our goddamn hardest - now you tell me, what the f*ck am I supposed to do when there's 7 tables I have to wait for, which is usually in the range of 28 people, and the food is ready/customers want a refill/other customers want to order, all at the same time?

I'd say if you don't want to pay tip, go eat fast food for the rest of you life.

Dude, anyone with 1/2 a brain can tell when the server is getting run ragged.

I know that if I see that my server is getting shafted with hella customers all wanting service at the same time, I don't mind if things are a little slow, or if I have to wait a bit longer for another beer. I do mind when the server is hanging out at the bar chatting at the bartender (excessively) while I'm waiting for them though, if I see that when it's busy, it's an instant 5% off the tip at least.

Overall I usually tip at least 15%, most of the time 20-25%. Just this evening I tipped even more than 25% because he was attentive- $6.50 on a $21 total.

Well if you think about it, it's a good strategy for the restaurant to make money. Food businesses don't make money period on food, due to the low markup on food. So if the Owner's rely on the customers to pay the salaries of the workers, then the owners will only have to pay them the 2.50/hour they get. So they rely on customers to make more money, and to not lose money. :)

I use to tip $1 for service and another $1 if the waitress was cute at the Little Caesars (Full Buffet) on a $4-$5 meal. I still tip a bit more if the waitress is cute.

So I'm a pig! At least I admit it!

I've known lots of people in the restaurant biz so I try to tip well. Just a few days ago I was in a hurry for some breakfast as I had to get to an appointment. I told my waitress I was in a hurry and she obliged. Fast to take my order, bring my food, bill, etc. On top of that she was really cute, smiled a lot, and was friendly. I left her a $3 tip on a $6 order. But I'm not a pushover. I've had bad service and left nothing.

Me and my Wife (GF then) were Eating at a semi- fancy place at the Mall of America, and the service was terrible. Our 1st waitress ended her shift while we were eating, and our new waitress was a BI***. I am in the habit of leaving a good tip, usually much better than 15%, but I knew I had to make a point. So we paid our bill and left. The waitress, seeing that we "stiffed" her, ran out of the restaurant and yelled sarcastically, "thanks for your generous tip !", freaking out my wife. We were both stunned, and just walked away. Well, my wife called later and told a manager what had happened, and he said it would be taken care of. Whether or not he did anything, she deserved to be fired. If you want a tip, provide good service. thats all.

I got this movie a few weeks ago for like $7.50. I think I'll pop it in tonight and watch it - at least the first scene.
