When did Fireworks become a Christmas thing?

I know some places in Latin America use fireworks on Christmas and they're big in Louisiana too for some reason. Maybe you have some immigrants in the area.

When people realized that fireworks don't self-destruct if they don't use it all on July 4?

Someone is next door atm.

they set off just one a few hours ago and got the pistol out, just put it up as they seem to be shooting em off now.

Sounded like someone fired a gun off.

Most places in the USA are a bit cold at Christmas for Fireworks.

Some eastern cultures use fireworks at different times. Lunar Jan 15 in Korea is a folk celebration time. They sometimes use fireworks.

I remember lighting fireworks every Christmas back in Colombia. It used to be a tradition until they banned fireworks.

Fireworks are an every occasion event.

Birthdays, July 4th, Halloween, Christmas, Weddings, Funerals, Executions, anything.
