When did AWPs users begin to not be noobs?

All they do is camp and wait for a human size target to run into their crosshair. Is it that there are so many noobs now? Is it because they now have deagles with them? AWPs ruin the excellent gameplay of CS:S. They should be eliminated. It's even worse than the shield.

1. pretty much any awper in a pub is most likely bad and easy to take care of (try to be undpredictable, use flashes and smokes)
2. cs:s doesnt have "excellent" gameplay
3. i dont see how deagles make a difference of them awping
4. no they shouldnt be eliminated
5. play a diff game 🙂

Regarding the deagle thing...

You don't notice how people like to buy deagles and AWPs in the same round? They believe that it will make them quickswitch faster and therefore reload faster after firing a shot. That doesn't really work as Valve increased the delay time with the AWP so...yes...IT DOESN'T WORK.

In CS 1.6, it works. Just not Source.

I'm kind of disappointed, I shouldn't have kept doing AV trying to get a win on my shaman.. I wasted a day-ish played and barely got any experience at all. I will probably hit 60 on him around 7.5 days played instead of 6.5 days played. I also believe I have finally perfected leveling as I have not run out of quests to level off of once so far! (about half-way to 56 right now with WPL, EPL, Winterspring and Silithus left and some Un'Goro quests to hand in still~). Pretty good when the only instance I ever did was ZF.
 
I just play on servers that restrict AWPs. Actually the server I play on almost exclusively lets you buy the AWP but as soon as you fire it you get slayed, makes me laugh everytime!

I also played for a while on a server my friends hosted with no AWP. IMO, it vastly improves the game, since:

1) it makes the semi-auto sniper rifles actually worth buying at times, and

2) it eliminates the 'easy' one-shot kills. You can one-shot people with the other sniper rifles, but it has to be a headshot, or upper torso if they're not wearing armor.
 
The main thing I love about awping is the whiners!

If you know how to play the game you can take on snipers. Play a different game or play on noob servers that restrict weapons.

You actually move faster with the scout. Scoutzknivez is one of my favorite maps.

Completely agree. Playing on AWP allowed servers is just not fun for me.

Same reason people pull out the knife at the beginning of the round even though you move just as fast with the pistol now, its just a force of habit.
 
I'll still always prefer the scout to the awp. Being able to run AND fire relatively accurately was fantastic. Although I haven't played much CS in years so I'm not sure how the dynamics are now.
 
When you play on private servers. The AWP will always have it's uses, but usually you'll just get the asstards that will just keep camping and killing.
