when can we expect prices to drop?

as the title says...when can we expect prices to drop significantly?

I want to buy new parts and i got them all picked out, but im afraid that as soon as i buy them 2-3 months later they will all be half the price i payed for them. (i hate when that happens) I hear everywhere that new stuff is do out anytime now, but then i hear not till fall from other locations.

I was just wondering when you all think we can see big prices changes in video cards and cpus/motherboards? (im looking at getting a x800xl and a64 3000+ on a dfi ultra-d)

I ask all you since most of you work in the industry are follow it closely🙂

Well, most of the x800xl boards have dropped. The ASUS, MSI, and Powercolor were over 360 in April. Now Newegg has them for under 300. The cheapest x800xl have not drop though.

Also of note is that memory prices have fallen.
 
cpus dropped a lot. i dont think theres any sense in waiting, usually the price just slowly decreases, there isnt a huge drop, usually.
