Given all the speculation about Fermi cost/performance/yields, when do you think I'll be able to actually get one after launch? I know there's a ton of things at play to answer that question certainly, but if I get a rough idea, I can start socking away some cashish (i.e., $20/week from now 'til July). Maybe for different reasons, but the HD5970 was "launched" mid-Nov. '09 and it's still very hard to find, if not impossible...and overpriced.
Is there a "Perfect Storm" of conditions that will drive the prices of 5870's down? Is that likely?
How many Fermi could possibly be available at launch? (Assumes Cebit?)
I like this scenario...
Fermi hard launches around Cebit with good supply and beats 5870 by 30% or so...albeit for more $. Card is hot, but has a pwnsorz wtfbbqsauce cooler that manages it. GreenTeam can only charge $400 for such a card driving 5870's down to sub $300.
Whadya think...?
