thats the funny thing, very low cpu usage. like less than 15 percent when burning at 4.1x yes there is a lot of disk activity but i would expect that burning to disk from a hard drive iso file.

Also what type of harddrive are you using? specifically what sort of cache and seek rate does it have?

It may not be able to pass information to the DVD Burner fast enough.

brand new dell comp.

SATA maxtor 7200 rpm 8mb cache 250gb.

set in dma mode and not pio

the buffer is fine when im not using the comp. when i start opening mozilla or soemthing the buffer sometimes goes down to 0 and even stops buffering until mozilla fully loads up.

have you tried increasing the amount of harddrive space the program is allowed to use to buffer ? or allocate it more memory?

Not to barge in on the thread, but do you need a DVD-RW to used DVD-Decrypter, or will a regular DVD drive suffice?

I had the same problem as you do. I also have a Dell computer with a DVD burner and 512mb ram. If you are burning a dvd with a lot of files in it, it will use up a lot of buffer. But if you are burning a dvd with like 10 files in it, it should run fine. When i was trying to burn a game with over 1000 files in it, i couldn't use my computer at the same time, but when I was burning 10 video files I was able to use my computer at the same time without any problems. My best guess would be HD, but then memory does sound possible as well. Too bad i dont have the money to test out 1gb of ram atm.
