When are the quad cores gonna drop?

im thinking about upgrading my computer, i want to go quad core since i do not want to have to upgrade for another 2 years.

newegg still has them expensive.

also what is the best motherboard for the quad core for o/c ability?

and lol while im at it what some good ram, hsf and psu.

i think im going with the 8800gts aswell.

the q6600's will drop to like $266 or something on july 22, although you're still likely to pay a bit more than that for awhile. also, the current quad cores are no good for overclocking unless you're willing to go with water or extreme air cooling (and even then...). pretty much any ram you want, try to get some d9's.

The G0 Q6600s will likely be a bit better on the OC'ing front and run a bit cooler. You will have to wait until retailers run out of the old B3 stepping chips so it might take a month or so to get a good chance of getting one from Newegg.

thanks for the heads up f4phantom2500 and aka1na, now i need to decide weather or not to upgrade my rig, or get that Westy 1080p TV.

There will be another Intel price drop in September so thats something to look forward to as well.

You don't think a 33% OC is good ? 3.2 on a ninja sythe ? I have 2 that way. MAYBE the G0 will be a little better, but no guarantee. And that OC is on stock vcore. (under load)
