When are the next set of atom processors coming out?

The first thing is Polsbo, the new chipset for existing Atom. I think these are trickling out already. Benefits are primarily better power/thermals over older 945GC chipset.

The next thing is Pineview chips, which no longer have FSB and integrate memory controller and a graphics core into the CPU. This might be 4th quarter 2009. So, basically you'd have to wait almost a year. But a year after that I'm sure something even newer will come out, so you should wait two years. However, the year after that something even more new will come out, so you should wait three years...

Actually, you may be better off never buying, since there's always something new around the corner.

thanks for the info and the bonus smartass comments 😉 i thought they would be coming out in the next few months when i'd be back home so i figured i'd wait until then.

Yes new stuff is always around the corner, but Pineview should be pretty revolutionary. Integrating the NB onto the CPU should significantly reduce power consumption, heat output, and cost. I'm really anxious to see how these devices perform.

Also I thought they were supposed to be available Q309?

You all forgot the new ATOM @ 1.66Ghz which is supposed to be paired with G40 "GN40 Don't remember". Well this N280 is suppose to have a faster FSB and faster speed "Well .06Ghz faster" as well as better battery life.

Also i would say the laptops based on the new Sempron 210U ,Nano, Athlon ULV, etc would be quite cheap and better than the ATOM counterparts "At least to the likes of N10, Dell 12", etc"

EDIT:- Mr. Inspector congrads on ur 10000th post now u are just a one...!!!
