When are the Democrats going to get their act together?

It would be nice to live in a country where political opponents got along and worked together for the common good. Republicans are leading the way and should hope to expect help from loyal opposition to accomplish great tasks in favor of America.

Right now all the Democrats seem to offer is "no". No to this. No to that. They are the party of no.

Yet the Democrats were the ones complaining of similar behavior on the right. They should lead by example and at least become the party of "maybe".

Republicans? You mean the party who, for O'Bummer's 8 years in office were "The Party of NO!"?

I agree the Dems are fucked up...lately, even more than in the past, but what we're seeing is two political parties being run by their extreme fringe sectors...NOT their mainstream.

you are 100% oblivious to the irony in this post aren't you, you fucking poseur?

It's widely known I think Hillary sucks but how do you work with someone whose prime goal is to throw the majority of people under the bus unless they are already wealthy. In addition their leader cannot tell fantasy from reality and proves it daily with his twitter obsession and his complete inability to work with those of differing opinions. Do the Dems have problems? Yeah they sure do and I submit losing to Trump isn't automatically the fault of everyone but them, but Republicans in the current state are a bus full of clowns driven by a guy with bright orange hair.

They should say YES to the republicans and Trump. The fastest way to get a Dem back in office is to let Trump and his bad ideas have his way.
Imagine the number of votes Dems will get in the next election when SS is gutted, millions lose health insurance and the wealthy get even more tax cuts.

All true, but a lot of Democrats are hoping Trump will be found guilty of treason and impeached, as if that is going to solve anything. I wonder if they realize nothing is going to change if the head clown is ousted. The rest of the party will continue on the same path.

Sorry, that's not how it works. Democrats should stand unified in opposition to basically everything the Republicans try to accomplish for the very simple reason that Republicans need to learn the consequences for their behavior over the last eight years. It's a basic game theory idea of credible retaliation.

If Republicans see that obstructing Democrats on everything means they can't accomplish their objectives either then perhaps they will think twice about doing that next time the Democrats win the presidency.

It would probably solve quite a bit. Pence has horrible policy ideas but he at least appears to be emotionally stable and minimally competent. Replacing Trump with Pence would be a large upgrade in those respects.

Also, after an impeachment scandal even if Pence took over the Republican Party would likely be so weakened that they couldn't accomplish much until the next election, which they would probably lose badly. It's kind of a twofer - you get someone sane in the White House for the rest of the term and then they get booted.

I don't think a return to the Cold War with a new nuke program is part of the general Republican strategy though. I disagree with Republicans on many issues but at least there's a "Point A to point B" logic I can follow. Trump doesn't have any linear or logical process. He's a Gordian Knot which can't be untangled by any rational process, and the Alexandrian solution of cutting Trump out by a sword of impeachment seems to be the only solution. That does not mean I take that lightly, but when a reasonable basis is found I'd be for it.

I assume because you are such an honest and stand up person I can find posts from you imploring the Republicans to say more then "no" back in 2009?

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Wrong 2-faced hypocrite

BTW - The Dems are co-oporating with the GOP when it comes to Trump accusing Obama of wiretapping and the Russian connection. We are going to get that damned Obama for his microwave spying!

Any more self righteous bitching?

As long as we can build a wall, Im all for it. 🙂

Don't you know what loyal opposition means? It means you oppose some things and support others. The ACA was a horrible idea which I opposed. But nice try anyway.

It appeared to me that what we're experiencing now is the Democrats with their acts together. They're hanging tight with their core principles which are based upon government dependence. They can't be blamed if the electorate has discounted their ideology on a wholesale level.

If you bothered to read my response Dems are already doing that very thing so the premise of this thread is bullshit.

Also I can't recall there was anything Republicans supported Obama on in his first year. If you recall they had a meeting before he inaugural that they would say no to EVERYTHING

Not a Dem fan about many things, but gutting the EPA and reducing regulations which prevented more Love Canals in order to have a run up on nukes? There is no need to make us dependent on the government to be able to kill off civilization one more time out of the countless we can do now. The dependence of government by created fear on something not even explained by starting another arms race. That's an ideology I can get behind!

Well, no.

Hey, if you can foretell the future this well, got any investment tips?

If you live near a water source, move. EPA has ceased being your friend.
Naw, I see nothing but good coming out of paring bloat out of government. But I get it, simple minds think in simple ways. Big government good, smaller more efficient government bad.

Hiding under a blanket fearing change is not any way I want to live my life but to each their own.

The Dems do need to get their act together, jettison the Rep wannabees, and move back to being a liberal party. Their transformation into a party of the right over the past three decades has led to their decline. Opposing the fascists is necessary but not sufficient.
