You think it's bad in the U.S.?
![]()
there's a reason those other countries are failing at "the economy" even harder than we are. They also don't have to drive everywhere like we do.

Agreed. Americans really need to get over this idea of the President as Big Daddy what's in charge of making everything all better. Government solutions typically make things worse.I actually dont want the president directly messing with any prices. That usually causes more problems.
ah, nevermind
Find a chart not in "Today's Dollars", but in "Actual Dollars".
Hey, Genius:

Better, now, Jerk-Ass?
- gas is $2.90 a gallon at Costco here in the bay area
- Obama never promised to lower gas prices
- low gas prices are largely why we have historically consumed too much and have become addicted to foreign oil
- wolf
Gas prices are always higest in the summer months, when people are out driving more. They will fall near Oct-Nov and into the winter. Just like it always is. Just like it always will be.
Well here in jerzee its like $2.60. But we have one of the lowest gas state tax in the country. But we take it up the rear end with no lubrication every place else.
Not only do we pay the least, we get someone else to pump it for us![]()
I recall something about Obama thinking gas prices aren't high enough and was talk of some crazy tax on gas to increase the price. You know, to force "green" stuff on us.
Heh.

Without severe inflation there is NO chance of double digit gas prices this decade. You think $10 would suck for us? How about China? It would cripple the richest nations, which means the poorest won't even be able to pay for their president's limousine. Don't worry about it. Even the most insane speculative bubbles will have a hard enough time breaking $5 for a week or two. The only way the US will pay $10 for gas this decade is if the dollar receives an unbelievable devaluation; it certainly won't be because of increased consumption by the rest of the world.Gas prices aren't coming down, you can expect to see them rise quite a bit in the coming years. You're going to see double digit prices this decade, no matter who the president is or what he does.
With Dave McCowen? You haven't been around here long enough. You know... I try to have an intelligent conversation/debate, and that's the best you can come up with? Ok.
You forgot also to add that he hates America.I saw no debate nor intelligence, only bullshit but I expect no less from a Texan influenced by big oil.
Get a Prius. I am pimpin' high 40's MPG on 87 octane all day long in the city. Toyota has their national clearance event right now, lease it for under $200Next vehicle is going to be diesel.
