When are DX10 cards coming out

I'm thinking of getting a 7900GT or GTX and using EVGAs step-up program that's limited to 90 days. Otherwise, I might get a 7600GT and just buy a DX10 card when they come out; at that price, I wouldn't worry about the step-up program. I had a 6800GT (died and I'm using a 9250 for now) so I should see improvement over the 6800GT even with a 7600gt. Also, considering just getting an 1900xt and just running it till I'm not satisfied with it's performance (what I usually do with hardware), but I'm thinking it'd be a lot better to do that with a DX10 card.

Haha, I was just about to ask the same question. I am also planning a new build soon with a 7600GT as a stopgap before DX10 cards show up. And I know the 7600GT offers great performance for the price but how does it stack up against my current X800XT?

Also considering the same upgrades! I tend not to uprgrade unless I'm guaranteed double performance so I was thinking about getting a x1900xt and oc'ing it to hell - but seeing as the nex gen's are out soon I'd sooner wait and spend similar amounts on what should be at least triple my current performance!

PS If you can still find them anywhere, the 'old' 7800gt's should be good vaule seeing as they are now redundant - offer performance only about 5-10% behind 7900GT at stock speeds on both.

We should be worrying when DX10 GAMES will be coming out!

Hardware is no good with no DX10 games to run them on 🙂

What about the specs for the next gen cards! thats what I wanna see....who cares about DX10 now.

Surely there'll be a <$200 "X300"-level DX10 card? No obviously not for gaming but it would permit some use of rudimentary DX10 applications.
