When Anandtech reviews the GFFX

Everyone, cast your minds back to when Anandtech reviewed the Radeon 8500..

In the conclusion there were many instances of "what will Nvidia be doing", "Nvidia isn't siting idle", etc, etc.

So, with the Release of the GFFX so near... and with the Release of the R350 or Radeon 9900 (ATi's refresh of the R9700).

Will Anandtech show unbias, and remind all the loyal readers that something better is right around the corner? Or will he keep silent, and make it seem the GFFX is the only card worth getting?

Conclusion of R9700 review.

We would recommend buying a Radeon 9700 Pro over a GeForce4 Ti 4600 if you're buying today, even taking into account the ~$100 price difference between the two cards. What we can't offer a recommendation on however, is what to do when the issue of NV30 comes into the picture. If NVIDIA is able to meet their schedules, NV30 will be out around December and at a price competitive with the Radeon 9700 Pro.

What do you think?

Are you seriously suggesting that Anand has a bias towards nVIDIA? I can't remember the last time I ever detected a bias in any of Anand's articles...perhaps you've missed out on how much he's praised the R300 core. I'm no ATi fan, but I think everyone here can appreciate the progress that they've made in the last six months; especially Anand. This poll is pretty rediculous.

The day he stops doing that is the day I start looking for another hardware review site. I TRUST the guys findings and have purchased thousands of £ on hardware based on Anand's (and his teams) findings. I have not noticed any evidence of bias towards any manufacturer/product to date and long may that continue.

But, to answer your question. If there is anything to report on the R350 I'm sure Anand will mention it, even if he just speculates a little. :)

I guess that he will say something along the lines of: "Impressive perfomance, is it enough though for Nvidia to keep the crown after the release of ATIs R350?" or something like that... He will undoubtedly mention what the competition is up to in his conclusion, just so one is aware of the bigger picture and what will be the next serious contender.

GT, I think everyone who reads these forums knows you are a ATI fanatic, but accusing Anand of bias only affirms to me and I am sure others that you are a complete dolt.

Well, there will be more than one GeForce FX Version, so thing will be complicated. Personally, I would like to see Ut2k3 botmatch and flyby benchmarks @ 1280X1024 32Bit, Maxium Settings, then 4xAA and 8xAA. With information on what the benchmarks were for each map at each different settings. Highest FPS, Lowest FPS, and Average. After that, Overclocked benchmarks with u2k3 @ 1280x1024 32Bit, Maxium Settings, then 4xAA and 8xAA. I also hope to see a 3.06 Pentium 4 System and a AMD XP 2800+ system performing the benchmarks. I know its lots of work, but I'd do it :D

I predict that Anandtech will praise the Trident XP4 at the end of the FX review for providing superior price/performance. :)

Seriously.

I sincerely hope Anand surprises me.
