I was thinking that once, if I was to die nobody at any forums or other online places would really know about it. Not that anybody would even care. :p I tend to keep my real life stuff like Facebook separate from online stuff like forums.

Basically if all my sites stop working and emails sent to me bounce and it stays that way, it probably means I'm dead and the server is permanently down due to the bill not being paid. That, or it could mean that I got some kind of cease and desist order of sorts and I've gone off grid permanently.

Canada has RL Facebook? How do you de-friend someone, kill em?

I don't even notice the usernames of the posts I read half the time so I certainly wouldn't notice if someone dissapeared. If I don't post in 6 months then I'm dead or lost my vision due to a horrific accident...guaranteed. If I'm banned then I'll be on the other dozen or so tech forums out there.

Some people die at 25 and aren't buried until ATOT is notified.

I was able to let someone know just this past week that I was almost certainly going to die, but obviously I didn't. This place has been something I've participated in for a long time and I've grown fond of a few. What I'm going to do is give my personal information to someone who I've had a good relationship with and in the event of my prolonged absence he'll be able to contact my family and he can pass the word along for the few that care. I don't expect a weeping and gnashing of teeth when it happens, but it seems right to let those who I've had significant interaction with know out of courtesy.

You've contributed orders of magnitude more to the forums than I have. You leaving would be a loss. I'd miss you anyway.
