When a CPU is 266MHz, what does that require of the motherboard?

On pricewatch I see AMD 1.2GHz Athlon 266 FSB. Does this basically mean the motherboard has to be 266 FSB as well? I think the A7V133 is..

Thanks

just means your mobo has to be capable of a 133Mhz FSB speed... Athlons effectively double that by using both ends of the clock cycle to get the 266.

if my explatation is a bit off, feel free to correct or add on!

To get 266 MHz FSB for the processor you need to make sure to get a mobo with a chipset that supports this speed (VIA KT133A or VIA KT266 or AMD 760 or Ali Magik 1). The VIA KT133A is the only one that supports PC133 RAM. The rest are DDR mobos.

Just to clarify the others statements:

A 266 Athlon is best used on a 133mhz(266) SocketA mobo, but it can run on a 100mhz(200) mobo as well. If it's run on 100mhz(200) it will lose a lot of it's advantage, so if you are getting a new mobo, be sure to get a 133mhz(266) mobo.
