I've driven myself slightly nuts overthinking this, so, help my sanity please?

That is not my car, but it is essentially the same, right down to the seven spoke wheels.

Local CL has a full set of those wheels, off a newer model, with rubber on them, for $500. Should be 225/50R17, owner claims 70% tread.

I think the seven spokes look better than the five webs by far though (but I can't find anybody selling them nearby). Opinions? Also, does that seem to be a fair price?

The other advantage - those newer wheels are 17x7.5, the current wheels are 17x7, which would make them more compatible with going to 235 or even 245, and something a little more made for performance.

Alternative - look for 18x8 seven spokes, but those are even rarer than 17x7 seven spokes. It's definitely a pricier option, but the 8" width would be nice for putting 245 on, as an upgrade (hopefully substantial upgrade) over my current 215's.

Edit: $500 for the 17x7.5 from CL, which will give me two full sets of used all season tires.
$750 for those wheels, sell the used tires, and buy 245/45R17 new.
~$1050 to get 18x8 wheels, buy 245/45R18 new.

That's a cheap price for those rims/tires if they do indeed have 70% of good tread. I'd have a hard time passing that up lol

7.5 is a little on the narrow side for 245, but it depends heavily on side-wall length. My 225/45-15s are STUFFED onto 7.5" wide wheels on my Miata, but that was a conscience decision to soften the ride and make it a little more forgiving to drive at the expense of a little ultimate grip.

I like the split 5-spoke wheels, I'd pull the trigger in a heartbeat if I was looking for wheels.

245's on an 8" here - 7.5" is a little narrow, but shouldn't be unsafe by any stretch.

Better than 215 on a 10" anyway 😀

I like the 7-spokes too.. Keep searching for the G35 Coupe wheels.

FWIW, I sold my G35 Coupe wheels (18x8 +30) for $400 a couple years ago with shot tires and they were rashed to hell. I'm wishing I didn't as I'm looking to put my car back to stock now to sell.

$400 seems to be the going rate for 18x8 four sets of the old coupe seven spokes, but when they pop up, a) they sell fast, and b) they're never ever up in my area (New England).

I have a set of 19x9 /19x10 Volk RE30s and plan on running 245 in the front and 275 in the rear.
