I thought the wheels that car came with were supposed to be pretty good. Why do you want to change them?

the stockers were beat up by the previous owner so he replaced them with NT03+M wheels. they are decent, but I want something a little bit nicer for my summer tires.

I am also considering CCW's

thinking something like this:

or maybe this:

well, I decided on the CCW wheels.....

my wife talked me into the 18s, so I will be getting some big ol' wagon wheels 😉

getting brushed anodized centers and polished lip.

will look very similar to this setup:

you'll appreciate her judgment call more when you see the wheels on the car. CCW Classics tend to look a bit smaller than most other wheels of equal diameter due to their stepped lip and thus smaller diameter face. great choice though...while i still prefer the TE37, i love them both, and have yet to see a Supra on TE37's or Classics that doesn't look absolutely stunning...and the same goes for the last few generations of Evo. the CCW Classics are, for lack of a better word, classic...

...now please promise me that you'll get the appropriate wheels widths and offsets - aggressive/flush with the fender - no more, no less...

fronts will be +23 rears +33, which is decently aggressive.... they will require a fender roll, but wont need a pull or excessive camber to fit.

perfect

i can't stand it when folks run a ridiculous amount of negative camber just to keep from rubbing. i also can't stand it when folks stretch the hell out of their tires (for instance, running a 245mm tire on a 10.5" wheel lol)...some stretch is ok if its necessary to keep from rubbing, but too much stretch =.

I'm running a 225 on a 9" wheel.. Proven track/autox set up for the Miata though.
yes, but the slight angle of the sidewall with the vertical that a 225mm tire on a 9" wheel creates isn't really all that "stretched" by any means:

...in fact its a proven track/autoX setup for the Miata b/c it provides a nice balance between tire sidewall flex and stiffness - just enough sidewall stiffness to give great handling and feedback, yet just enough sidewall flex to allow for sufficient traction under acceleration, deceleration, and turning.

...this tire on the other hand is both stretched and pulled:

...and would be a lost cause for anyone looking for decent traction at an HPDE or any sort.

long story short, i don't put your Miata into the "stretched tires" category, as your stretch is very very mild.

Mine looks a bit more stretched than that first photo, but agree on the second photo being horrible. I can't stand that style even if its what is "in" in the G35 (my other car) community.

i used to make fun of a whole group of mini truck enthusiasts here in the east valley for doing that. they took it to the extreme tho, they had 10 and 12" wide rims with the tires stretched almost flat on there. it looked ridiculous. even more with the wheels sticking out 4" past the fenders.

i like understated fast cars, i think the blues (opt 3) would look good. the ones you picked work too tho.

I am getting a 255/35 on a 9.5" wheel. so shouldn't me much of a stretch at all.

in reality, I am getting 9.5" +38 offsets. Running a 15 mm spacer upfront (brake clearance) and a 5mm spacer in the rear for visuals

I was really hoping to go to a +32 on the rears (no spacer), but the way the face design is, I would have to drop down to a +25..... and that is sticking out passed fenders quite a bit in the rear. even at a +38 in the rear, they sit pretty flush. I stewed on this for a week now and feel I found the best setup for my wants and needs

if you think its popular there, check out VWVortex.com, audizine.com, etc. the WV guys do it like its going out of style...

on a side note, i'm constantly lurking in the wheel & tire for sale forums on my350z.com and g35driver.com b/c they often have particular wheel sizes and offsets for sale that are perfect for aggressive/flush fitment for my Supra (9.5 +25 front and 10.5 +25 rear, to be exact)...too bad most of those guys like 19's, b/c i'm only looking for 18's.

are you waiting for brand new wheels, or are you getting them used? basically i'm wondering how long it'll be before you post up some pics of the Evo on CCW Classics. can't wait to see it.

btw, i just purchased some wheels for the Supra that i know you'll appreciate 🙂...i'll start a thread and post some pictures when they get here in a few weeks.

I am still wavering on the offsets on this..... I had them put my order on hold. I don't feel 100% on the offset situation and don't want to throw down the money till I am 100%

but to answer your question, I am looking to buy new
