looking for some thoughts on getting new wheels for my evo

want to get some summer wheels for my car.

Getting 17x9.5 +28 no matter what wheel I get. My car is GG (same color as grey cars pictured) and is lowered on KW coils. pretty much stock appearance otherwise

Wheel 1 is SSR type-f in gold.
Wheels shown are 18x9 +32... so mine would smaller, but wider and more aggressive offsets

Wheel 2 is Volk TE37SL... shown are EXACTLY what I would be getting... same size, color, and offset

or

Wheel 3 is Volk TE37 in mag blue. offset , size and concave face would the same as the SL's shown above, but they would be mag blue as shown below
18's are shown in pic

I dig the 3rd ones, gold just seems out of place on anything but a blue subie. The 2nd ones are pretty bad.

Black wheels on a dark car look bland, wheels need to subtly contrast the car.

but on a car that's already an attention getter I think they need to be more subtle unless of course that's what you want.. That's just my opinion though. I want to change my silver wheels to a dark color.

finally someone getting the whole wheel instead of just the rim :thumbups:

i like the first ones

OP, you didn't really mention what is most important to you - looks, performance, etc. but since you're simply asking for people's opinions, i voted for the TE37SL b/c they are the lightest of the three sets you're considering, and yet they're still as strong as the original TE37. i don't particularly like the single red spoke, but you can always repaint them if its something that bothers you. not that i don't care about looks, but in my book, performance takes priority over aesthetics 99.9% of the time.

i also have to admit that i find the TE37 far more attractive than the SSR Type-F's. its always been my favorite performance wheel, and nothing quite compares to a set of TE37's with a super concave face .

really any lightweight wheel would be fine. I consider lightweight to be under 20 lbs. These in particular are bit more lightweight than that, but I am open to suggestions as long as they are 17's and decently lightweight.

what about Type F in silver?

I am very partial to all the rims you suggested though.. SSR type F and the SL make me drool

I am between the first two
