Seeing the abject panic setting in over the federal government being forced to deal with a slightly reduced growth rate in spending is rather amusing. The only problem is that like an appetizer at an avant-garde restaurant, it's not nearly enough to satisfy. Like Lays potato chips, you can't have just one, so who's up for the next sequester (or 10)? How many do you think we should have, considering the original represents about 1/44th of the budget? Keep in mind we're spending 1/3 more now than we did five years ago ($2.9T in FY09 vs $3.803 for FY13) so don't be shy with taking a second helping, not like we're going to run out.

lets cut it. 10 more please..

stupid base-line-budgeting and funny "new maths" ahhaha the people are unaware that we're STILL SPENDING MORE than last year, but cutting!?!/!?

low education voters as Rush would call them....on both sides

Don't worry. They can't get this right, and it's extraordinarily simple compared to other things. Just wait and see what happens if the government gets it's hands on healthcare.

People will complain about this, but swear that something harder than rocket science is a guaranteed good thing. I want to see someone not cite some other nation and explain that when things like sequestration screw ups are the norm for political haymaking how they know it's going to be a wonderful thing. Critical thinking fail.

Unfortunately it would be beneficial for the government and for the media that we never go through with sequestration.

If they ever did, the public at large would realize that the apocalypse did not occur, that everything indeed continues as normal, government could no longer use scare tactics to continue amassing power and the media loses a perpetual ratings generating story.

I'm sure the fail media has a boatload of stories ready for the next few days to show how the country is in shambles because they ebil gop is forcing the government to raise spending by less than they wanted. They'll even call it "cuts", even though more is being spent.

As a whole todays media is as concerned with giving objective reporting the same priority as those in the recording industry promote selflessness in music for music sake over intellectual property.
