I lost one of my HD channels and called Comcast and they said it was temporary, they are adding HD channels and moving them around.
One of the new ones will be Sci-Fi HD.
I was wondering how much stuff on Sci-Fi is HD? Are the made for Sci-Fi crappy movies in HD? When they show a theatrical movie do they do true HD or the crappy TBS stretch-o-vison?
Lastly, when they show stuff like Dr. Who at 5 a.m. is that in HD? In other words, do they go non-HD when not in Prime time?
I am so excited. I can now watch SG Atlantis and BSG (when it returns) and the new Amanda Tapping show in HD. Hopefully the SG1 repeats will be in HD....?
I guess its too much to hope they will have in on for this Friday....

Dr Who and Eureka.

Eureka looks good since Dish switched Scifi to HD, but Dr Who still looks like ass.

 
Sometimes the Doctor Who on ScifiHD is heavily artifacted, and looks like ass. The commercials, however, come in crystal clear.

Yeah, I think a lot of it is just up-sampled, and not all that well.
 
I've tried to upgrade to the HD package on my cable, but they don't offer SciFi HD. Which sucks because the picture quality of regular SciFi is utter garbage. It is by far the worst looking station I get. It's almost unwatchable at times.
 
I have comcast too, and I have been hoping for Eureka in HD for a while, only thing that network has that is worthwhile.

Yeah. Up til about 2 years ago my Comcast standard def Sci-Fi was crap but they cleaned it up a lot.
But I am all aglow about getting in in HD.
I just hope they give it adequate bandwidth.

btw is there a TBS stretch-o-Vision must die! website?
It's urgently needed.
