I logged more than 500,000 accident free, ticket free commercial miles before I retired...and used to put an additional 1000 to 1400 miles on my personal vehicle every week on top of those work miles.
I estimate that I'm close to 1,000,000 total miles driven in my life.

only 28yo. put about 40k on my first car, 60k on my truck and at least 150k in various work trucks. one year I did about 50k in my work truck alone.

if you count flight miles.. my god... 8 round trips to Australia in just the last 2 years... 2 to timor leste and some random domestic.

1100 on my Mazda CX5
92300 on my Mazda 6

Put a 170k on my Dodge Stealth and 95k on my Durango before I sold both of them. Had an 85 Blazer that I put ~65k on it when I was in high school.

My current car just hit 130,000KM. I got it with 7KM and I put all but maybe 100KM on it. Then there's all the other car's I have owned and driven....hell, I put 800KM on a rental just yesterday. I'm probably around 500K+

Over 300k miles but probably not by much. Dinosaurs were pretty much turning into birds when I started driving.

I drive about 6k miles per year. Been driving for 21 years, 126k miles. And that assumes I actually drove 6k miles each year between age 14-18 which is pretty unlikely. I would say around 100k.

Shit, I have cars I've put over 100k miles on and I've owned 8 different cars in my lifetime. Very conservatively, I'd say at least 400,000 miles so 640,000 kilometers just on personal vehicles. Add in that I used to work a job where I drove around all day and I did that for around 8 years so add another 200,000 miles for that. Plus another 60k on motorcycles.

I'm probably over 1 million kilometers driven.

Another older guy here. Well over 500K miles, probably closer to 750K miles. I drive on average 40 miles a day during the work week, and probably about the same on weekends, or about 15K miles a year.

I drive a lot. Back around college and the first couple years after, it wasn't out of the ordinary for me to get out of work on a Friday afternoon, and decide that the next day, I was going to be at a beach 500 miles away.

Current car: got it at 25k, it now has 145k miles, 4.25 years later.

Prior to this, had a couple company vans and drove a total of 120k miles in 4 years.

Couple of cars before that for a total of ~100K miles

edit: I'm 33, been driving since 16 technically, but so short distances it doesn't seem to matter between 16-18. 18 full on driving. Most of the mileage has been in the last 10 years.

50k on my learning car (80k-130k when my family owned it)
40k on my first personally owned car (110k-150k+)
10k in my current car (102k-112k)

Did a few road trips across NY in other vehicles owned by family and friends. Also worked as a swap driver for GM. Drove new and old cars all over the northeast for over a year, the longest of which was 900 miles in a single day. Didn't keep track between the two but it's probably close to another 50k.

I'll say 150,000 miles (~240,000km). Been driving since I was 16 and am 29 now.

Total distance is more interesting when you also know how long the person has been driving, and I guess we could throw in how many different cars as well.

I have a total of around 150,000 miles over 10 years in 3 different cars.

over 300K miles eaisily
been driving for 16 years
3 cars

I have averaged 30k per year for the past 7 or so years

100 mile round trip commute for work

D:

I take it you don't mind? I could never do that and would either move closer or find work that's closer. That is literally years of your life that could have been spent at the places you were going to but instead were spent traveling.

its a 53 mile drive that takes 40 min. zero traffic, 100% highway - I live in the boonies. I know people who live in cities with 20 mile commutes that take twice as long

sure I could move but it would end up costing me a lot more, even when driving less

and I don't mind. I get to drink coffee and rock out on the way in and just rock out on the way home

also lets me forget about work, im never stressed out when I get home

Ahh, a yearly average then. 25-30k miles. We've decided that once the guard dogs reach their time, we might get rid of most of the animals on the farm. That would allow a lot more spontaneous travel. I'm not averse to saying, "hey, let's drive up to Maine this weekend for a lobster dinner." Portland, Maine is around 8 1/2 hours away (560 miles); leave work at 3, I can be there by midnight, grab a hotel. All day to see the sights, have lunch there on Sunday, then return home by 9pm. 3 day weekends would make for even more time. edit: haven't done Maine, but we've done Va Beach like this numerous times, which is nearly an identical distance.

This^n. I got used to a commute that was all highway in a scenic area that took just under 30 minutes when I started driving. When I got a new job and was being hosted at a friend's place to get my own apartment the commute was just under an hour, also all highway but not quite as nice.

For the first couple years once I moved I only had to travel 8 miles but it took 20-30 minutes depending on traffic, and it's not even a large city. I'd take the hour-highway commute again any day of the week.
