what's your thermostat set to in your house/apartment?

I think I need to lower mine got hit with a $200 electric bill last month, though granted, I was also baking a lot in january.

I have mine set to 67-68 when I'm in the house, and lower it to 64 when I go to work.

My dorm room has an idiotic thermostat that is either off, hot, really hot, or ridiculously hot. At home, it is set to 68 from 6AM - 11PM and 62 from 11PM - 6AM. Oil heat is used at home along with a gas range.

my gas and electric come from the same company. It is between $500-550 per month in the winter.

the thermostat is a steady 72 degrees.

About 75 when I am at home and 65 when not. This is an old appt bldg and I live on the first floor near the bldg entrance so I need higher temp to keep the appt warm. Paid 170 last month. Got a space heater today for the living room.

My electric runs about 225.00 a month, I heat with gas, right now, I have a 178.00 gas bill, it's always higher during the winter. We've had some cold cold days. I keep the temp at about 71, turn it back at night a degree or two. During the day, 69 or 68 degrees, depends on how cold it gets.

Our bills were $160ish last month for gas and electricity.

Only $200? Lucky you! I've been averaging $400 a month, and my thermostats are set around 65. I'm not which sucks more... electric heat, or Connecticut's electric rates.

60-65 in the winter and 80 in the summer. When the humidity hits, the a/c runs most of the time mostly as a dehumidifier.

that's only for a 2 bedroom apartment, though... it's usually about half that in the winter, and under $100 in the fall/spring when I use neither AC nor heat.

I have mine set to 70...although the heat is not on...its still on a/c....its on right now actually as i got home and my apt was around 80.

Forced air/heat has not been used in > 6 years at zip 90815.
I use an electric blanket while at the comp or watching TV.
The heat is only turned on in the truck for clearing the windshield.

Move to the SW coast youngster.

I live in FL, so it isn't even on.

One thing we do is have a heat recovery system. In the summer, our air conditioner makes our hot water... it is worth looking into, but you'll have a hard time finding someone willing to do it.
