Smart enough to not attack divers, and have been on record as saving a few swimmers in distress.

My take on Orca Whales.

I have never seen an Orca Whale. They are in books and shows about animals a lot. They are big and live in the ocean. I am average-human-size and live in an apartment in New Jersey. Orcas and I do not have anything to do with each other.

I hope they have a long and happy life without me. And vice versa.

The End.

I spotted my first pod of whales while taking my dad on our first airplane flight with me as the pilot. We were over Dabob bay off of Hood Canal. It was wild. we descended down to ~800 feet and made a couple of orbits, and one of the whales spyhopped the whole time.

No, but I have seen videos of them hunting sharks, whales and dolphins.

Orcas aren't whales, iirc - they're over-grown dolphins / porpoises. Neat animals, none the less.

On a side note, I was watching the National Geographic channel over the weekend, and they were doing a show about Hippos. According to research and DNA evidence, they're more closely related to whales than anything that lives on land :Q
