What's your OS??

I was just bored and was wondering what's popular amongst the tech-savvy AT community plus I had nothing better to post about.

Personally, I dual boot SuSE Enterprise Desktop 10.0 and Win XP although I spend the vast majority of my time on SuSE.

What about you?

- Fedora 6 - main machine (Thinkpad T60 Laptop) will be upgrading to 7 at the end of the semester as I have lots of things to change and don't have time ATM
- Fedora 7/8 -Development (Testing machine IBM S50)

OS X, Windows Vista Business (dualbooted), Windows XP Pro (VMed), Ubuntu 7.04 (VMed)

Windows XP Pro is the primary OS on all of the machines in my home (save the old pentium 1 IBM Thinkpad). I plan on dual booting Ubuntu and XP Pro on my (Core Duo) notebook again once the sound issue is fixed.

How about adding another poll to ask which is your primary OS if you dual boot.

This poll is going to be heavily slanted in the windows variant category. 😛

At the moment, I am running XP Pro on three machines, and Win2k on the 4th. Though the 4th is also my test bed for various things, so it changes every other month or so. In March, it was running Ubuntu 6.06.

Just made the switch to Ubuntu 7.04 in April and I'm dual-booting into Win2k occasionally for things I haven't had time yet to figure out in Linux. I'm guessing within 6-12 months I will be completely Microsoft free in my home, with the exception of my wife's computer. I'll eventually get her settled into a Linux distro, but it'll probably have to wait until Win2k no longer runs the software she needs, and even then, I'll have to get it completely set up for her so she doesn't have to face a learning curve. I'll still be using XP at work.

2x Vista Business (home laptop, office desktop)
1x Vista Ultimate (HTPC)
1x XP Pro (home desktop)
1x OS X (office laptop)
Ubuntu, W2k3 Server, XP Pro VMs on office desktop

Vista Home Premium on the WS laptop, Vista Business on the desktop box in the home office. I've also got my girlfriend on an XP machine that is a hand me down before I built the Opteron box. I'd keep a linux box going here if I had spare hardware and the need for it but right now I don't.

Main: Vista 64 Ultimate
HTPC: Vista 32 Ultimate
Notebook: Vista 32 Ultimate RTM still...haven't gotten around to putting retail version on yet

I have XP on dual boot on two of those machines, but i haven't used it ever.
