Did you look at thread #1 in this forum? Suggestions for different budget ranges there, but if you're really in "North Carolina, Malaysia" you won't be able to buy from newegg.com like all good Americans should.

I would go with a VNF3-250 (70$) and a Sempron 3100+ (100$). It can overclock farily well, and beats the pants off of an OC'd 2500+ at stock speeds. You lose gigabit ethernet, but it's a small price to pay for all the nifty features of the NF3-250 chipset. Kingston RAM is nice, but you can get 2x 512mb sticks of Patriot DDR500 (for overclocking) for about 180$. This will let you run the RAM at 500mhz, while turning down the multiplier if need be. A better graphics card is another good idea; a 9800 Pro (180$ if you look) or the faster 6600GT (soon to drop to 200$) will let you get a bit more out of your system. A Samsung 160gb drive (90$) is a better idea, because of the lower price and lower noise. Lastly, look into a better power supply-Enlight is, to my knowlege, not the best available. (you can get a 400W coolmax for 40$, and an Eagle ATX mini-server all aluminum case for 25$.). Lite-On burners are at least as good as Sony's, but a fraction of the price.
Does this help?
