What's your opinion on the liberal-bashing industry?

The irony of sexually frustrated fat Al Franken slamming married, slimmed down Rush Limbaugh compared to your statement is too much.

Almost as Ironic as Rush harping about morality yet coveting another mans wife, eventually marrying her.

It pales in comparison to the conservative-bashing that occurs on our college campuses everyday.

As if anyone pays attention to him besides Ultra Conservatives looking for another target.

I keep my news as unbiased as possible. Bias will slip out in anything. Choice of words, length of story, even selecting one story over another.

I don't write stories that are just propaganda though. When the "Demo Memo" and "Republican report" come to my desk, they are trashed right away, or are made into paper airplanes

I don't remember them making money off of it. the topic is profiting from bashing. If conservatives had the brains and the will to get a doctorate and a tenure, maybe they could bash liberals on college campuses. Too bad they are too busy going off to business and military and whatever. Not to blame them, but you can't complain about colleges being overwhelmingly liberal if conservatives are not willing to spend their time to get a professorship.

I was watching Craig Kilborn's show (Late Late Night on CBS) once when Al Franken was on. Craig asked him what he would choose if he had to choose between becoming a Republican and dying on the spot. Al said he'd become a Republican, then immediately kill himself because then another Republican would be dead. That doesn't really pertain to this conversation, but I thought it was funny

I think that the reason there are "so many" well known conservative people bashing liberals is because the media is composed of so few conservatives. Once they actually make it into the industry, they have to keep people's interest so they remain there. Conservatives finally have a news channel that reports the news they're interested in; Fox News. Other than that, just about everything is liberal; from newspapers to news channels to magazines.

You might be surprised at how much I agree with that statement. It's ok by me though since those of us that did get some "book learnin" and a good "educashun" will someday run the state. Of course that might turn out to be along the same lines as coming in first in an ugly contest, sure it's an honor but is it one you really want?

The worst part of these bashers(of both sides) is how they set themselves up as the persecuted and the bashers as the overwhelming force that will destroy all that is good. Get's tiring real quick. Way back when Rush first got his TV show, I watched him for quite awhile and was quite the fan of his. After meeting some *real* people, befriending them, and had some actual discussions of politics with them, I soon realized that Rush was a nutjob. Thank God that everyone doesn't just accept anything, we'd all be toast if they/we did.

They are in between these two industries. They are not as good as the Semi-Conductor industry, because they haven't really had any new ideas in the last 30 years. But not as bad as the Farming industry, because at least they haven't asked for subsidies yet.

Typical Republican copout. Bush only signed the spending bills, he didn't actually write them. Same excuse that Reagan apologists made. Like I said this party has had no new ideas for the last 20 years.
Clinton set balancing the budget as a goal, and worked with Congress (GOP) to meet it. That's what a president does. Set goals and deliver. Bush set a goal to blow the surplus on a tax cut, and he sure is delivering. I know you are trying to make some point that Clinton didn't balance the budget singlehandedly out of his pocket or whatever, but If he didn't set a goal of balancing the budget, and had the cajones to shut down the government when congress went against him, the Democrats in Congress would have gone on spending, and republicans would have gone on cutting taxes, and we would have a budget hole the size of Texas. Bush hasn't vetoed a single spending bill. He has not stood up for young Americans who will have to foot the bill for all this spending the rest of their lives with higher taxes to service the debt. He is doing the most politically expedient thing and has 0 political courage IMO.

Franken seems well-adjusted to me. He's been married to the same woman his whole life, unlike the heaving porker behind the voice of the angry white male who's been married four times. About Franken not having credibility: he's a satirist. He doesn't take himself too seriously like Al Sharpton, who hates all white people, or Rush Limbaugh, who hates all minorities but in particular women and the poor.
