What's your opinion on current speed limits?

I think they're fine the way they are. In order to make speed limits higher, they need to make it more difficult to get a driver's license. A lot of the people on the road in the area I live in would not be able to handle speed limits higher than what they are now because they're idiots. There are always people following too closely (one of my major pet peeves) and doing stupid things like shaving or putting on makeup in the car around here. Can't tell you how many times I have seen a person in the fast lane on the freeway doing 50 mph with people screaming by them on the right, I pull up beside them, look down and see them reading a book while driving.

Alright but what about 1 lane highways? Do you set the entire highway to 55mph just to accommodate 1 piece of shit vehicle Honda made?

Maximum of 9 seconds 0-60. Problem solved. Even a freakin minivan can do this in 7.

Just because the car can do it won't mean the driver will. I've seen plenty of cars that can get to 60 quite quickly but nope, the driver thinks 45-50mph is fine to merge in.

These people lack the fear of death. We need an 18 wheeler to cream one and have the truck driver say "sorry but I couldn't slow down fast enough, I'm hauling 50 tons of stuff the guy merged at half the speed limit"

Worst speeding encounter ever for me... sigh, and closest to catastrophe.

So yeah, cruising in the left lane doing around 75-80 keeping with the left lane traffic through Detroit on I-75, speed limit is 55.

Anyways, everyone is cruising, I'm leaving a bit of extra room in front for whatever random reason, all of a sudden, there's an on ramp on the left of the freeway, some black guy in a little white POS was trying to merge into the left lane that was doing 75-80, while he was doing about 40-50. This did not work well, I was thinking fast and decided to floor it instead of braking, and I got in front of him, he was about 2 feet off my rear bumper, it was not good, the guy behind me had to slam his brakes, I'm sure.

That's why I hate driving through Detroit, not being racist but black people cut like 3 lanes back and forth for whatever reason, get on going slow, don't do the limit, whatever you can imagine.

But, I generally just do the speed limit + 10mph, except Detroit where it's 55 and should be 70. Which means it should be 70 and I do 80.

I drive a lil' 05 Cobalt, but at least it's got all the trimmings :awe: I did top my car out the other day, my lil' 2.2L was doin 120mph @ 6500RPM's. , this was on I-75 where it's 70mph speed limit.
