If the first name has Ko in the name, unless it ends in Hiko, it is a girl's name. Usually, not all the time I'd say 70% of the time, if the first name ends in Mi, it is a girl's name. Very short names like Saya, Aya, Miki, Maki, Mina, etc are girls names

They gave me Izumi which is a girl's name and it means Spring (not the season).
