Well I was still using a 15" NEC until about 2 weeks ago when I finally got my 19" 900NF, soon my new AIW Radeon and maybe BNC cable and I'll be set for a while.
I got a 21" not to long ago. When I first set it up on my desk I thought I had messed up big time, way to big. Now that I have had it a few weeks I would NEVER go to a smaller one. Its the only way to go.
I concur: I went to a Hitachi SuperScan 21" a couple of months ago. I recently went to my friends house, who has my old system, and 17" monitor, and I looked at it and thought it was a 13"
Bought a Samsung 17" 753DF flatscreen last May for $220. Nice sharp monitor. I bought it cause I was on a tight budget. Someday I'll upgrade to 19".
The DF753 refresh will only allow it to be ergonomically usable at 1024x768, even though it allows for 1200x1024. I don't think anyone would want to run at 1200 on a 17-incher anyway.
Nope. Anyone who runs higher than 1024x768 is crazy IMO (on a 17". Here's my opinion:
< 17" - 800x600
17" - 1024x768
19" - Either 1152x864 or 1280x960
>19" - 1280x1024 or 1600x1024
That's just my opinion though. I personally am running 1152x864 on both of mine. Works good for keeping your panel's on one monitor and your actually "work" on the other. Cheers!
I've got a 17" Philips 107s at home and a 17" Viewsonic 17GA here. I like my philips better. If I do upgrade I will get a iiyama or mitsubishi 19". I really think 21" is overkill.
Man, that's a tough question... *Personally* I like the 955DF better I think. I mean, the 950P has a higher "optimal" resolution refresh rate but I run it at a lower resolution anyway... And given that the 955DF has a 100% flat (DynaFlat) screen, I'd prefer to do my layout and reading and stuff on it. The 950P is very flat, but not like the 955DF
Which one I'd suggest? It really depends on the resolution you're gonna be running I'd say... That would definately be the first consideration I'd think about. Then about how important the totally flat screen would be to you... Anyway, I'd say I like the 955DF better, but that's cuz I'm probably not "harnessing" the resolution power of the 950P
19 inch here. I too think 21 inches is overkill. Especially given the size of the case. I will wait for quality LCD's or Plasma's to hit 21 inches and become affordable before I updgrade. Hell, my Sony 19 incher is a beast on my desk. I like the idea of 21 or higher, but not until the profile shrinks considerably.
I got's me an old skool MAG Innovision DX17T 17" 0.25 Trinitron, heh max it does @ 75hz is 1024x768. *chuckle* It was one of the first monitors put out when Sony began licensing out it's Trinitron technology. Surprisingly it's held up remarkably well.. but I still have dreams of dual Sony F500R's someday... someday..
20" princeton at work too bad system isnt powerfull enough for some real games, and a 17' at home, wanna get a 21" for home and then do dual, probly could set up dual at work ,we have tons of 17's layin around, but sys cant handle it, and as far as IT goes im second. .
