Mine is "A"

Yes, just "A"

It's the English form of the Japanese word "Ei" meaning glory / honor / prosperity.

"Craig". Every so often when I'll joke around and do the first-name-as-an-initial thing (e.g. C. Everet Coop), but I normally go by my first name.

John Wilson

2 middle names, both the first names of my grandfathers

One was named John because it was a strong sounding name, the other after Woodrow Wilson.

Harry Gill Hoffman I was born on 2 April 1877 at Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, (although for many years he claimed he was 1 April [April Fool's Day]). He married Virginia Waddy Grubbs on 23 October 1900 at Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, in a ceremony performed by Christian Church Minister, Rev. H. D. Clarke. Harry Gill Hoffman I died on 16 June 1956 at Mary Chiles Hospital, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, at age 79; at age 79. He was buried on 18 June 1956 at Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
He also called "Pud"; When asked how he got his nick-name Harry would say, "My name is Puddentain. Ask me again and I'll tell you the same."

It must be a Southern thing. We used to say this on the playground all the time, like a jump rope rhyme or game. I always thought it was a nursery rhyme... I had no idea how it started, but I guess Mr Hoffman was quite influencial!
