I'm a bit younger than what would be considered mid-life. Been enjoying mid-life crisis cars for quite a while already.

Well, I guess these were mine in order of crisis since I started in my mid-30's and finished in my 40's. Not sure what I want to get for my next crisis since nothing short of a Tesla Roadster or maybe a 911 Turbo even make the list.

Same here. My last car was a Mercedes-Benz E550 Coupe and my current car is a AMG C63 Cabriolet. Plus, I've owned various motorcycles for the past 15 years or so including a couple of Ducatis, one of which I still own.

We just traded my wife's car for a Chelsea tractor and I honestly like it more than my C63 AMG. ;)

469hp bi-turbo V8 and it is the fastest car I've ever owned by far. It also has fantastic brakes and handles well for being as heavy as it is. I had some guy in a Porsche 911 try to pull on me a while back. I honestly surprised the heck out of him by pulling on him. He gave me the thumbsup at the next light.

Mine's a F10 M5. Some nice ones are finding their way under $30,000. M5's are rare - I've gone years at a time without seeing one in the wild. When you pull up in an M5 it says something besides "midlife crisis", I think.

I saw this meme and remembered your comment. The S63 pictured below are why they’re creeping under $30k :p

993s are super car expensive, no?

Judging by sold prices on BAT a clean base Carrera goes for $60-80k. Realistically I’ll never buy one. I have my mid life crisis mobile already (that I bought at like 24... hope I make it past 48) and I’d rather spend that extra money on track days and tearing out more weight. Sunroof -> CF roof is next.

I’ll definitely buy a cheap Miata someday for a fun more casual and lightweight street car.

The engine in my 650i looked kind of like that from the top. It gave me a headache peeking in there.

But I wouldn't be using it as a daily driver for sure. And some say the F10s were more reliable than most M5s.

A friend of mine has a Porsche 996, he picked it up cheap because it had the dreaded IMS bearing that hadn't been done. He has a garage at his house with a lift so he did it himself... that's a lot of work let me tell you. He documented it pretty well and did some other things to it while he had the engine out so it is pretty well sorted but man those things are expensive to work on. Everything on a Porsche is stupid expensive.

I've got an F10 (2011 535i xDrive). Started doing all of the maintenance on it myself after the warranty ran out. Maybe I'm lucky, but I haven't had a bit of trouble out of it yet. 106k miles. Would love an M5, though!

I heard you like hoses on your engine so we put hoses on the hoses on your engine

I'm hoping it's going to be a new Honda S2000, or whatever they call it if they release a new sports car in the next 5-10 years.

I don't think I had it. And I am definitely past mid age.

I feel like I missed out on something.
Maybe realizing that you missed out on a mid-life crisis will be your mid-life crisis. 😉

A Delorean:

Although practically speaking (because I don't want to die in a Y-frame with a fiberglass shell), an original Acura NSX. A dude on my bus route in high school had a black one with a tan interior and I drooled over it every. single. day.

Thank god I dont have an itch for luxury :).. I do have an itch for acceleration though but that is easily bought with a proper bike.
For a car I'll shell out whatever for one of the first fully autonomous ones, Tesla or otherwise. Level 5 or bust.

I've fallen HARD for the new Corvette so I guess that would be it. It is hands down one of the best sports cars ever made. It wrecks cars twice its price and looks amazing doing it.

I have owned 2009 Infiniti G37X and 2008 Infiniti G37S Coupe. Those both felt like my midlife crisis vehicles :)

I bought a mid-life crisis car but it was used and inexpensive.

I’ve loved driving it but after replacing the flywheel, clutch, a transmission rebuild and a Subaru recall having them rebuild the engine twice I’m probably going to sell it in the next few months. (Although I’ve basically had everything fixed for the next guy)

I’m likely going for a Tesla Model 3 long range next but we’ll see.

Probably for the best to sell it.

I always thought of those cars as post adolescent rather than mid-life.

Damn
I can see why you would want to replace it with a car that has none of the things you had to have fixed on the Subaru.

It had been forever since we had a manual and I missed it. It was also only $14K got reasonably good mileage and handled like a go-kart.

The downside was the previous owner likely thrashed it which caused the transmission problems. My guess is most of the used BRZs will have this problem.

I already had a Hartge H3 323i, a BMW M535i (Dinan Tuned) and a Kelleners Sport BMW 528i all before age 30. So...I got bored of technically "superior" cars and I built this as a toy/ultimate sleeper. I drive this on sunny days to remember what a real car is all about, and to embarrass people at track events that buy cars they can't afford, and don't know how to drive. My whole car likely cost less than a cylinder head for some of those machines.

Since the last update, the car is down to 2270 pounds and over 315 whp/358 Lbs/ft torque on 91 Octane crap gas. This years goal goal is 2230 pounds, and 335 WHP before the next club event (or track day if I can find the time).
