major: industrial design
minor: spanish

i was an architecture major before switching to industrial design and was considering a minor in philosophy before deciding on spanish.

sorry mom, i make you to pay two more years of tuition. 😛
 
I have 2 degrees

BS in Aeronautical Science (Commercial Pilot) with minors in Aviation Weather and Computer Science

and

BS in Air Traffic Control
 
Undergrad majors: Physics, Japanese
Grad: Materials Science

Prior to declaring physics, I was a business major. 😛

So I changed once. Twice if you figure that my grad major was different from my undergrad.

Minor: (didn't have to do one, but I only have a few classes left to get my b.s. in computer engineering)

I finished that major in 1973 when I got out of the USMC after 2 years in Vietnam...decided that unless I wanted to be a cop, (or hit-man) there really wasn't much I could do with it as a civilian. My next "major" was as an Operating Engineer. Spent 4 years in a dedicated apprenticeship learning to operate a wide variety of heavy equipment, with a specialization in cranes.
Got hurt 3-1/2 years ago, which took me out of the trades, so now, voc-rehab has me in a real school for the first time since 1970...
Working on a dual AS degree, in Architectural Drafting Technology and Architectural Engineering, learning to design the stuff I used to build...
Sure doesn't pay nearly as well, nor is it nearly as much fun...but, when life gives you lemons...
 
I have a couple or questions for this thread:

If your goal in school is a PhD or Masters in a particular field, but you're obtaining a Bachelors to get there, do you declare your current undergrad major or your intended final major or both?

If you obtain multiple degrees over time are they all your major, only the ones you're currently pursuing, etc? Also are those different degrees changes in major, or just additional majors? What if you change the level of degree but not the field? For instance I originally thought I'd be getting a Bachelors in Education and changed that to a Masters. Is that changing my major?

Concentration: Decision Support Systems
Minor: Global Business

Graduated May 2006. Wanted to minor in finance, but they didn't offer it. Probably should have done writing something or other since I like to write now, just school reppressed that thought.

5) business administration major
6) econ major with math minor
7) finance major with econ and math minors
8) finance major with math minor
I refuse to change again
 
Majors: Cisco Networking, 2yrs --> Mechanical Engineering --> Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Sort of like 1.5 changes. The ME --> MET is sort of a lateral move.

🙂 Good for you. Sometimes (more and more often these days) I consider something similar to that, just ditching engineering entirely. The unfortunate thing is, the only other thing I'd like to do is philosophy. BIG money in that.
