the original Arcade game "Gauntlet". I remember playing for 7-8 hours on one quarter. Once you got Elf with Extra Shot Power and Extra Magic Power, it was over. You could play forever on a single coin. And once you got the other power up's it became about how quickly you could run through the levels while gaining health.

Also, one time I played an entire "Gigantic" map of Gal Civ over a particularly long night. Was up due to an illness that didn't allow for sleep. So with nothing else to do, I loaded up a new game and conquered the galaxy.

EQ for me. Only a month or less after I got the game, I went to a small LAN party with myself and 4 co-workers who got me into the game, and I know I for one played 20 hours straight. I played for 26 hours straight on another occasion I believe. It was VERY common for me to play 12+ hours straight. I guess you could say it was a literal addiction for a while.

Longest time on the consoles was the full 24hr mode in 24Hrs of Lemans on the Dreamcast. On the PC it was 8hrs straight with Deadspace 2. I couldn't stop playing until I beat the game. It was worth it too.

Yeah lol. I was single with plenty of free time and I wanted the challenge. I'll never do it again though. Well especially since I have a kid but even if I didn't, no way. That was gruelling. Fun though. I felt kinda like a real racer lol.

why surprised? its actually not that hard to play RTS games for long periods?

Yeah my brother and I would play Age of Empires 2 all night sometimes. It's easy to play an rts for long periods of time. You resource harvest and defend so much you look track of time. Those were some good times, man...

I think he was surprised about playing SC on an N64, as I couldn't see how anyone could play that terrible version for so long 😛

obviously PC was alot better but you use what you have especially when you are a kid and cant afford a PC 🙂 Thank god my parents always had a PC.

Our parents had pcs that would run the game, we just wanted to play together.

I did KOTOR in one sitting, something like 27 hours, shit was harsh and no, i didn't do every quest. I then proceeded to sleep for 13 hours.

30 hours, UO. Fun times.

I don't have the patience or free time to play anything for more than an hour or two anymore.

Master Level raids in DAOC. We did several in a row. My wife and I were online for nearly 48 hours straight with catnaps.

This 100x. I can easily see how you could play StarCraft for tens of hours. On the N64, less so. But hay if you enjoy it good!

I'm sure some of you guys have put in some insane WoW, Diablo II or CoD play times. What's the longest single stretch you remember every playing a game without quitting for more than bathroom breaks and snacks? I don't actually know what mine would be but it would probably be some turn based JRPG. Grind, grind, grind. Something in the 7 or 8 hour range probably.

I dunno man but 7-8 hours of diablo II or starcraft was pretty typical for me.
