What's your income/tax bracket?

People for some reason can't wrap their heads around marginal tax rates, and like to complain about the top bracket even though they don't make anywhere near it. So let's see who's complaining about things that do not and likely will not ever affect them.

And maybe you should read up before you start posting, eh?
wow we killed the link. here's a cache:

or just google 'how marginal tax rates work'

None of the Neocons here are going to offer that information. They'd die of shame if you knew what they really made. They're rich "wanna-be's," not literally rich.

Oh really? Attacking our economy will not affect the poor? You have some grand delusions on the ramifications of wealth redistribution and the skyrocketing debt that must be paid through the devaluing of our currency.

It won?t affect them, if they never receive a check from an employer. If they never buy a good or service from anyone else. Otherwise the cost is passed onto the poor. They pay it indirectly with everything they do.

Just because something may or may not affect someone directly doesn't make it OK or right all of the sudden.

I dont think this poll will give honest answers. People will skew it. Anyways I'm single and make less the 82k. I don't think i would ever make more then that as I would reinvest money into the business before jumping into higher brackets.

Is this after all the deductions? The actual amount of taxable income the household makes? Or are you looking at gross income?

Pretty much what I figured, most single people are probably in the 60-100K range with married people being around twice that.

Looks mostly ok so far.

Married - make less than $137,050 (technically I could be making less than 1 quadzillion dollars... silly poll)

It's a well-known fact that everyone on AT is a multi-millionaire with a supermodel wife.

No to the first, yes to the second. 😉

Looks like the married people are well under 2x that. FWIW, we are in the 2nd bracket. Barely... 😱

Tax brackets, but yes, the wording is ambiguous without context.

I considered putting $ - $ but figured the intelligent folks here could figure it out

Doing what, it seems like you spend all your waking hours trolling P&N. Somebody's not getting their moneys worth from you.

These are random numbers, why 208,850 and not 200,000

If you don't recognize those numbers for what they are you are not allowed to give opinion on taxes ever again. I means you've never looked at the tax rates/brackets.

For the most part I do know where the numbers are and pay attention to changes in HCE income level (that one is VERY important) in addition to seeing what changes year over year.
