There's a stigma associated with taking 7 years to get a 4 year degree.
How would anyone know how long it took, unless you were dumb enough to put it on your resume? 😀

Plenty of places require a PhD for research.

You wouldn't put your GED or high school education on your résumé either.

Who is going to admit on here they didn't finish high school?
Do you write it as "in loo" too?
Or did you take French?
I was posting on here in college for example, so I couldn't claim to finish college. But now I can claim that and grad school knocked out. Lets not forget the kids who post on here too.Who is going to admit on here they didn't finish high school?

Why would you get a masters in Accounting? It doesn't seem like employers value it at all.
Master's but holy shit, my entire company is full of them -- not because it's necessary. A lot of them did a foreign degree and got a local master's. Everyone and their mother has them now...
Not to mention not everyone has an undergraduate in Accounting. If you had a bachelor's degree in general business or business administration, you could get a master's in Accounting and build from there to be more well rounded.....but yeah, it's kind of redundant unless you're going for a Phd or the above example. To be able to sit for the CPA exam, most states require 150 credit hours, equivalent of 5yrs of college, so colleges have begun to offer 1yr Masters in Accounting degrees.
Going back and getting a GED later: that says focus, determination, and accomplishment, IMHO.
tbh, if I could do it over again I wouldn't even have gotten the bachelors. I'd have used the money instead to get a couple certs and move out to San Jose or Seattle back in the early 00's
So if you had this power, you would move to Siliconlandworld and buy certs? 😛
Because it shows that you're too lazy or too unmotivated to complete something that was handed to you on a silver platter. Nothing could be easier than getting a regular high school diploma.I am also not sure why there is even a stigma on getting a GED. I mean, it is a test on the basic knowledge you're supposed to get in high school. I would imagine a good amount of high school graduates couldn't pass it. There is no negativity connected with testing out of a college course, why high school?
Would you want lazy/unmotivated employees working for you? Would you take a risk on them when there are plenty of potential employees who are slightly overqualified?
